The Only Reason to use your Android phone as Webcam for your PC is saving some extra bucks. Laptops are equipped with webcams which are poor when compared to smartphone camera, so there are more reasons to switch to this method

There are lot of apps available in the market to use your phone as Webcam.I recommend to use IP Webcam

Steps to follow for using smartphone as webcam

1) First download the app and install in the phone

Note – Make sure the app was closed when not in use since it drains the battery, you can Extend your Battery Life

2) After installation process, go through their settings.If you need to change anything, go through them, i prefer to use the default

3) Choose the FPS, image resolution, TCP port, it is wise to choose the resolution that your phone supports

4) You can use it as only Microphone by enabling Audio mode

5) Once you are happy , start the server by setting some username and password

6) After starting the server, you get an IP Address with port similar to 192.xx.xx.xxx.8080

7) Type the entire IP address which was shown  on your Computer when configuring ip cam in the browser , Now video will be opened

8) If it is not visible, try to update the java plugins

9)  To use this app for various applications, download the IP Camera Adaptor
